PEDRO FIGARI - TEMAS - SUBJETS: ABORÍGENES

     Los indios están muy ligados a la historia de las luchas por la independencia, y no se han conservado como grupo poblacional. El contacto indirecto que tuvo Figari con el testimonio de su existencia previa fue durante sus paseos por la costa al este de Montevideo: de la arena rescató, junto con sus hijos, boleadoras y puntas de flecha. Las cerámicas que encontraron se puverizaban al tacto. El paisaje era seguramente el mismo que pintaba.

    Indians are closely related to history of he fight for independence, and they haven't remained as population group. The contact of Figari with a testimony of their existence happened during his trips along the coast east of Motevideo: he and his children dug stone bolas and arrowheads from the sand. The pottery they found turned to powder when handling. The landscape was problaly the same that he painted.

     Les indiens ont été proches à l'histoire des luttes indépendentistes, et n'on pas survécu comme groupe de poblation. Figari a ramassé le testimoine de leur existence pendant ses sorties par la coste ver l'est de Montecideo: avec ses enfants, ils creusaient du sable des bolas de pierre, et des pointes de flèche. La poterie devenait du poudre en la manipulant. Le paysage était probablement le même qu'il peignait.
